At the 2007 IGRA Convention in Kansas City, it was decided to move the International Dance Competition from Convention to IGRA University. Because the 2008 Convention was to be held at the end of October 2008 so close to the end of the year, the Competition move to University in February of 2009 resulted in no official Dance Competition for the calendar year 2008
