Ryder Gently was born and raised in the middle of the Bible belt in small town Oklahoma. Ryder spent most of his adult life living in Texas before settling in Phoenix, AZ a few short years ago.
For many years he aspired to perform as a drag king but it wasn't until coming out as a transgender man and gaining confidence in his true self that he finally made that dream a reality. He took the stage for the first time in June 2022.
Ryder grew up wanting to ride bucking stock in the rodeo but unfortunately was only allowed to compete in one local rodeo due to his gender assignment at birth.
Today, Ryder has an opportunity to spread the word that gay rodeo exists, and ALL are welcome to compete. It is a safe and inclusive community that shares values rooted in the traditions that built the western culture he grew up in and around. Ryder continues to give due credit to the love and support he has received from the community in his continued journey, without them it would not have been possible.
