Sande Miller
Inducted 2005
As a child Sande competed in Junior Rodeo and won many buckles and saddles, later moving to high school, college and then to IGRA. During her years of competing in IGRA, Sande won many buckles and all around titles. Most people didn't know that Sande fought Hodgkin's disease from childhood. With a perpetual smile on her face, you would never know the constant pain that she endured. She was an example of the true spirit of sportsmanship who was always willing to lend a helping hand to another, in and out of the arena. Sande won her last buckle at the 2001 Dallas, Texas Rodeo in barrel racing, competing on a young horse that she had trained. Sande passed away in February of 2002. She is survived by her parents, Arbie and Betty Miller of Wingate, Texas and her partner of sixteen years, Murmur Tuckness. Murmur continues to participate in and be active in the IGRA.
